Aurobindo and Moumita live in a slum in the Hoogly district of West Bengal. They were both studying in low income private schools till expenses caught up, and they had to drop out of the school. Their father who is a rickshaw-puller, took up another job of dusting furniture at people’s houses, just so that he could put his kids back in school.

One went back to the private school, while the other got enrolled in the free government school. But they need help with their subjects, which the parents are in no position to provide. The parents are making their best effort to secure a future for their children here. Maybe you and I could help them out a little too.

15-year old Ronti comes from a family of hardworking parents. His father is a daily wage labourer, and his mother goes door to door in the humid weather of Kolkata, selling saris. All so that they can help their son to become an engineer. But their family income of a mere INR 4000 per month gets in the way of Ronti’s dreams. He topped in his school in the Class 10 exams, and wants to pursue a B.Tech degree after Class 12. However, he cannot afford the luxury of getting coached for the entrance exams that most others he will be competing with can get.

It costs 50% of their family income for him to get these tuitions, and he won’t be able to make the cut until people like us stand up to support him. He politely smiles and says, ͞I hope I can help someone in need like this when I become an engineer one day.
